Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that there are many opportunities in the field of Library and Information Science and allied subjects, University of Mysore (UoM) Finance Officer K.S. Rekha complimented the students who have opted for the subject.

She was speaking after inaugurating the Mysore University Library and Information Science Students Association (MULISSA) for the academic year 2023-24 at the Department of Studies in Library and Information Science premises in Manasagangothri here yesterday.

Today, the people are more interested in getting information rather than earning knowledge. The authorities should come up with innovative plans to draw students more towards Libraries and books. The Librarians today have also the responsibility to change lifestyles by making people read books. The freshness that we get while reading books cannot be got through digital content,” she said and called upon the students to develop interest in every aspects of life.
