Thousands receive Amma’s blessings at Amritanandamayi Mutt

Thousands of people visited Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt in Bogadi 2nd Stage here this morning and received the blessings of Mata Amritanandamayi  popularly known as Amma. She is at the Mutt to take part in the 17th anniversary of  Brahmasthana Temple.

Amma arrived at the Mutt last evening for her two-day visit. She served food to devotees last night. Devotees from USA, Canada, Australia, various parts of India and other countries were seen coming continuously in a stream to have a    darshan of Amma.

Elaborate arrangements were made at the Amrita College grounds for the devotees.

An exhibition of ashram publications, educational facilities at the Amrita Institutions and on Swachh Bharat Campaign was also arranged. Amritakripa Hospital had organised a free health check-up camp.

Amma distributed sarees to poor women, scholarships to deserving students, pension to widows and physically challenged people. The personal darshan of Amma commenced in the morning and will go on till late in the night. During the darshan, Amma hugged every devotee and whispered mantra in their ears.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji said that Amma was an epitome of love and affection which alone can bring harmony among people. He described her as a symbol of strength for the whole world. He lauded the services of Amma to the field of education and health.

Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Marithibbegowda, Corporator Jagadeesh, MCC Health Standing Committee Chairman Mahadevappa, Entrepreneur B. Raghunath Pai, Advocate O. Sham Bhat and others were present.
