Mysuru: Thousands took part in the ‘Namma Mysuru, Swachha Mysuru’ campaign organised by Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) as a part of World Environment Day celebrations, here yesterday.
Volunteers cleared the plastic waste and other materials littered on the either side of the Outer Ring Road.
Speaking on the occasion, MCC Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif said that Mysuru,
known as the Cultural City, is also famous for cleanliness and urged people to join hands with the authorities to keep the city clean. “People have been using plastic which is harmful for the environment. It is important to quit using plastic,” he added.

Later the participants were administered an oath to quit plastic. They also formed a human chain calling for ending plastic pollution. A person, dressed as ‘Plasticasura,’ grabbed attention.
