Four cows worth about Rs.1.5 lakh recovered

Mysuru: Alanahalli and Siddarthanagar Traffic Police, who were conducting checking of vehicles near T. Narasipur Ring Road junction on Jan.18, signalled a goods vehicle to stop for checking.

As the goods vehicle sped away, the Police chased the vehicle and stopped it during which three persons in the driver’s cabin fled from the spot. The Police, who inspected the goods vehicle, found three persons holding four cows and took them into custody.

During interrogation, the three persons are said to have confessed of stealing the four cows in Vidyaranyapuram Police limits, following which the Police arrested them.

The arrested are 20-year-old Ayub Pasha, 22-year-old Syed Salman and 19-year-old Mohammed Sohail, all residents of Shanthinagar in city.

The Police have recovered four cows worth about Rs.1.5 lakh and have seized the vehicle used for the crime.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad supervised Alanahalli Inspector K.M. Manju, Siddarthanagar Traffic Sub-Inspector Satish Kumar Urs, ASI Sathya Kumar and staff Sridhar and Nagaraju in the nabbing and seizing operation, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office Mysuru.
