Three commit suicide in separate incidents

Mysuru:  In separate incidents, two women and a man have committed suicide in city.

In the first incident, a woman, depressed over the alleged frequent harassment, committed suicide by hanging self at her house in Srirampura on Sept.9.

The deceased is Ashwini, wife of Pramod and a resident of Srirampura here. Ashwini had married Pramod on June 26, 2011 but since a few months, the couple used to indulge in frequent fights.

Depressed over this, Ashwini committed suicide at the house, when the family members had gone outside. Ashwini’s brother Naveen has lodged a complaint at Vidyaranyapuram Police Station in this regard.

In the second case, a 21-year-old girl, who had attempted suicide and was admitted to K.R. Hospital for treatment, succumbed at the hospital on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Geetha, a resident of Jayanagar in city, who had married one Siddaraju about six years ago.

Siddaraju, who is an alcoholic, used to spend the earnings on liquor and torture Geetha mentally, it is learnt. Depressed over this, Geetha had attempted suicide by hanging self, but was rescued and admitted to K.R. Hospital, where she breathed her last after failing to respond to the treatment.

A case has been registered at Ashokapuram Police Station in this regard.

In another incident, a 54-year-old man, unable to repay the loans he had taken, committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Siddaramanahundi  on Tuesday.

The deceased is Kariyanna, who had taken loans and as he was unable to repay them, he committed suicide, according to the Police.

Varuna Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
