15 achievers including Justice N. Santosh Hegde, H.S. Doreswamy to receive Nudisiri Award

Moodbidri:  The 14th edition of Alva’s Nudisiri, the annual Kannada literary convention organised by the Alva’s Education Foundation, will be held at Moodbidri from Dec. 1 to 3. Fifteen achievers will be conferred ‘Alva’s Nudisiri  Award’ during the valedictory ceremony of the three-day Alva’s Nudisiri on Dec.3.

Alva’s Nudisiri will be held at the Ratnakaravarni Vedike in Vidyagiri and the cultural procession will be inaugurated by the Parish Priest of Mulki Church Fr. F.X. Gomes. The Chancellor of Nitte Dr. N. Vinay Hegde will hoist the flag. The programme will be inaugurated by Dr. C.N. Ramachandran. Film Director Dr. Nagatihalli Chandrashekar will preside over.

The recipients of ‘Alva’s Nudisiri Award,’ which comprises Rs. 25,000 cash prize and citation, are Bishop Henry D’Souza, H.S. Doreswamy, Nadoja Dr. N. Santhosh Hegde, Dr. Tejaswi Kattimani, Dr. Siddalinga Pattanashetty, Dr. Vijaya Dabbe, Prof. K.B. Siddayya, Prof. G.H. Hanneradumath, Prof.B. Surendra Rao, Dr. M. Prabhakar Joshi, Padmashree Puraskanth Girish Bharadwaj, Padmaraj  Dandavati, Ratnamala Prakash, Dr. Thonse Vijaykumar Shetty and Rathashilpi Lakshminarayan Acharya.

As part of the three-day literary festival, Chayachithrasiri will be organised in which more than 2,000 photographers are expected to participate in Photography Exhibition.

The Nudisiri will also feature Chukki Chithrasiri, Galipatasiri, Udyogasiri, Alva’s Rangasiri, Alva’s Cinesiri, Alva’s Vyangyachithrasiri (Cartoon), Goodudeepasiri, Yakshasiri and Alva’s Vijnanasiri (Science Exhibition).

Prior to the formal inauguration of Nudisiri, former Prime  Minister H.D. Deve Gowda will inaugurate the Alva’s Krishisiri at Mundudreguthu Rammohan Rai Agriculture Premises.

1. Harshendra Kumar of Dharmasthala will preside over the function. Former Minister K. Amarnath Shetty, G.N. Prakash Kammaradi will be the chief guests.

This year, Alva’s Vidyasiri will be held on Nov.30 and Arjun Shenoy, a student of SDM Pre-University College, Ujire, will preside over. The event will be inaugurated by actor                                        Mandya Ramesh.

In addition to the Literary Meet, cat show, dog show, Bonsai exhibition and fish exhibition has also been organised.
