Three-day Kalabhivardhana in city from tomorrow

Kalasandesha Pratishtana to honour Vidu. Radha Sridhar and Dr. L. Subramaniam

Mysuru: The three-day Kalabhivardhana- 2017 organised by Kalasandesha Pratishtana in association with Kannada and Culture Department will be held at Jaganmohan Palace auditorium in city from Oct. 13 to Oct. 15.

The event will be inaugurated by Dr. Mahesh Joshi, retd. Additional Director General, Doordarshan, tomorrow at 5.30 pm. Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Chennappa will be the chief guest. Danseuse Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy will preside. On the occasion, the Pratishtana will present Natya Kalothunga award to Karnataka Kalatilaka Vidu. Radha Sridhar. This will be followed by a Bharatanatya recital by Vidu. Aishwarya Nithyanand and Vidu. Biyanka Radhakrishna.

On Oct. 14, the Pratishtana will present Sangeetha Kalothunga award to renowned violinist Vid. Dr. L. Subramaniam.  Musicologist Dr. Ra. Satyanarayana and Art Patron K.V. Murthy will be chief guests. Vid. R.S. Nandakumar will preside. Junior Pontiff of Avadhootha Datta Peetha Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji will grace the occasion. Padma Bhushan Dr. L. Subramaniam will present a violin recital at 7 pm.

The three-day festival will culminate with a classical dance ballet ‘Moulyanidhi Bheemasena’ by K. Sandesh Bhargav on Oct. 15 at 6 pm. Vidu. Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy has choreographed the dance ballet inspired by the discourses of Padma Shri Dr. Bannanje Govindacharya.
