Three-day National AIMSS Meet at Kolkata from Jan.21

The three-day National Meet of All India Mahila Samskrutika Sanghatane (AIMSS) will be held at Kolkata in West Bengal from Jan. 21 to 23. The Meet has two themes — ‘Stand up with dignity and courage’ and ‘Drive away atrocities, violence, exploitation and other crimes against women.’ About 1,800 representatives from over 23 States are expected to take part in this National Meet during which the Government will be urged to fulfil a 12-point charter of demands. They include: Ensuring safety of women and children; Implementation of the recommendations of Justice Verma Commission; Education and employment guarantee for women; Judo and Karate training for girl students at schools and colleges; Health Insurance cover for women and withdrawal of CAA and NRC, among others.
