Three-Day Yakshotsava in city from Aug.10

Mysuru:  A three-day Yakshotsava has been organised at Kalamandira in city from Aug.10 to 12 by Innovative – Mysuru in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture. Entry is free.

Aug.10: Solo Yakshagana will be presented by Keremane Sridhar Hegde at 6 pm; Padma Shree Chittani Award Presentation Ceremony will be held at 7.30 pm in the presence of Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji. Yakshagana artiste and organiser S.N. Panjaje will receive the award from industrialist G.M. Hegde of Chamarajanagar. Innovative President and Parthisubba Award recipient G.S. Bhatta will preside. Later, Yakshagana ‘Kaalayavana’ will be presented.

Aug.11: Yakshagana ‘Sri Ramanjaneya’ will be presented at 6 pm (Kalamandira).

Aug.12: Seminar on ‘Yakshagana Shakapurusha Sheni Gopalakrishna Bhat – Nurara Nenapu’ will be held at Suruchi Rangamane, Chitrabanu Road, Kuvempunagar, at 10 am. Social worker K. Raghuram will inaugurate. Dr. Sridhar Hegde Madikeri, Dr. Kabbinale Vasantha Bharadwaj and Kanipura Yakshagana monthly Chief Editor M.N. Chambaltimaar will talk on life and achievements of Sheni. Innovative President G.S. Bhatta will preside. This programme is sponsored by Karnataka Yakshagana Academy.

Yakshagana-Thalamaddale ‘Parthasarathya’ will be follow the Seminar. Bhagavata – U. Vishwanatha Shetty (Bengaluru); Arthadharigalu – Prof. S.D. Hegde of Honnavara, Dr. Kabbinale Vasantha Bharadwaj and Vid. K.Y. Krishnakumaracharya.

Yakshagana ‘Vaali Moksha’  will be presented at 6 pm (Kalamandira). This show is sponsored by Industrialist Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy.

Sri Edangunji Mahaganapati Yakshagana Mandali will perform Yakshagana during the three-day Yakshotsava which is directed by Keremane Shivananda Hegde.
