Gundlupet: Three elephants from Rampura Elephant Camp in Bandipur — Chaitra, Lakshmi and Parthasarathy — are likely to take part in this year’s Dasara celebrations in Mysuru.

These elephants have been identified in the primary stage of the selection process.

Yesterday, a team of Forest Officials led by Mysuru DCF Dr. K. Karikalan visited the camp and selected the above two female elephants and one male elephant in the primary stage of selection process.

Discussions on the selection of elephants to take part in Mysuru Dasara will be held at the Dasara High-Level Meeting on Sept. 3 and the elephants selected at the meeting will take part in the Dasara celebrations.
