Three friends killed as car rams into roadside tree

T. Narasipur: Three friends, who were travelling in a car, were killed on the spot, when the car rammed into a roadside tree near T. Narasipur last night.

The deceased are Suresh (25), a tractor driver from Hasumatti village in the taluk, Mahesh (24), also of Hasumatti village and working at a hotel in Bengaluru and Kiran (24), working as a mechanic in Mysuru.

As Maramma festival was being celebrated in the village, Kiran had brought his friend’s Maruti Dezire Car (KA-09-D-5460) to the village yesterday morning. According to Police, the three friends left for T. Narasipur at about 9 pm with Suresh behind the wheels of the car. When they were proceeding near Nerakyathanahalli, Suresh, who was said to be driving the car rashly, lost control of the car, which rammed into a roadside tree, killing the three on the spot. The front portion of the car has been badly damaged due to the impact, the Police added.

T. Narasipur Circle Inspector Krishnappa, Sub-Inspector H.D. Manju and staff visited the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the bodies to T. Narasipur General Hospital mortuary besides registering a case.
