Accused also stole gold chains, say Police
T. Narasipur: T. Narasipur Police have arrested three persons on charges of burgling shop in the town and have recovered a gold chain and cash from them. During interrogation, the accused have also confessed of committing chain snatching in Mugur village.
The accused had burgled Rs. 16,000 kept in the cash box of a shop in Mugur village. The shop owner, following emergency work, had just pulled the shutters of the shop and had not locked it. When he returned after some time, he found Rs. 16,000 kept in the cash box missing and had lodged a complaint with T. Narasipur Police.
Based on the complaint, the Police had taken one accused into their custody for questioning during which the accused is said to have confessed of robbing cash from the shop along with two others. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police arrested two others and questioned them during which they are said to have confessed of snatching a gold chain in Mugur village.
Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered Rs. 13,500 cash and a 40 grams gold chain from them. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
Superintendent of Police (SP) R. Chethan, Additional SP Nandini and Nanjangud Sub-Division DSP Govindaraju guided T. Narasipur Circle Inspector Krishnappa, Sub-Inspectors B.K. Mahesh Kumar, Govindaraju, Kumar and Malagowda Kempi and staff Bhaskar, Parashuram Natikar, Rangaswamy, Mohan and others took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
