Three Sandalwood thieves arrested

Periyapatna: The Forest Department personnel have arrested three persons on charges of chopping Sandalwood trees in Anechowkur Forest area and have seized sandalwood logs they were trying to smuggle yesterday.

The Forest staff has seized Sandalwood logs weighing about 75 kgs from them.

The arrested have been identified as Swamy and Naga of Beerathammanahalli Tribal Hamlet and Manju of Mutthumanuganahalli village in Hunsur taluk.

The Forest Department personnel have seized a two-wheeler and two mobile phones from them, said Periyapatna RFO Girish.
