Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police have arrested seven persons including three women on charges of stealing copper wires and have recovered copper wire coils worth Rs. 11 lakh from them.
Those arrested are Madhu, Srinivas and Habibulla of Ramanagar, Parvathi from Mandya, Adilakshmi from Mysuru, A. Shekar from Adishakthipura in Ramanagara and Kempamma. The Police have recovered copper wires from them.
On Oct. 14, 2024, miscreants, who cut the iron grills of Magnetic factory in Hootagalli Industrial Area, had decamped with copper wires and laptops from the factory.
Vijayanagar Police, who had registered a case in this regard, arrested Madhu, Srinivas and Habibulla at Hebbal Industrial Area on Oct. 26 and had seized a Tata Sumo vehicle (KA-04-D-3132) from them.
Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police arrested Parvathi, Adilakshmi and Kempamma on Oct. 29. The Police then laid a trap to arrest prime accused A. Shekar, who was arrested on Dec. 14.
Based on the information provided by the accused, Vijayanagar Police were successful in recovering 606 kg copper wires worth Rs. 11 lakh from them.

Krishna and staff Shankar, H.K. Pradeep, B. Paramesh, K.N. Lokesh, H.S. Lokesh, K.N. Manjunath, N. Venkatesh, A.M. Paramesh, Shivakumar, Vajna, P.C. Ranjitha, Chandrashekar, M. Pradeep, Kumar, Manju and Shyamsundar in the nabbing and recovery operation.
