Three-year-old boy falls into water sump, dies

Mysuru: A three-year-old boy died after falling into a water sump at Rammanahalli in the taluk on Friday.

The deceased little boy has been identified as Shreyas, son of Avinash, a resident of Rammanahalli.

On Friday evening, Shreyas was playing in front of his house and fell into the sump which was left open. After a few minutes, the members of the house who saw the cover of the sump open, closed it unaware that Shreyas had fallen into it.

As the boy could not be found, the family members began to search him and later opened the sump cover only to find the body of Shreyas floating, according to the family members.

Mysuru South Rural Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and have registered a case.
