Three Yoga exponents felicitated

Mysore/Mysuru: Marking International Day of Yoga, three Yoga exponents  were felicitated at a Yoga presentation programme organised under the aegis of Suvarna Belaku Foundation at Karnataka Hoysala Sangha office in Lakshmipuram here on Monday.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Manjunath Singh, owner of a Sportswear Shop in the city, said that today’s life was full of stress, fatigue and anxiety  and performing Yoga would help relieve the stress, both physical and mental. Highlighting the benefits of Yoga, he said that Yoga has been receiving all the more attention, with the entire world battling the deadly COVID pandemic. Pointing out that regular practice of Yoga and other physical exercise will help in keeping the body and mind fit, he asserted that there is nothing above Yoga for relieving stress.

Contending that practicing Yoga regularly will help keep diseases and virus attacks at bay, he underlined the importance of  teaching Yoga to others and at the same time to launch campaigns and educative programmes on the importance of learning Yoga. 

Himalaya Foundation President N.Ananth said that Mysuru is known for Yoga not only nationally, but also internationally. Noting that many people often tend to mistake Yoga for mere physical exercise, he emphasised on the  need for sensitising the people that Yoga is very much more than simple exercises. He called upon everyone to practice Yoga for their own health and well-being and also to stay physically fit.

Noted Diabetologist Dr. Renuka Prasad said that Yoga too is among the ways of treating Diabetes. Contending that Diabetes in a deep-rooted  health problem in most of the patients, he said that practicing Yoga will help in easing the tensions and anxiety which largely helps in the control of Diabetes. Explaining the benefits of Yoga for diabetic patients, he maintained that blood sugar levels can be brought under control by relentless practice of Yoga.

Noted Yoga Exponents Ravi, B. Sujatha and Ravi Kumar were felicitated on the occasion.

Suvarna Belaku Foundation President S.Mahesh Nayak, Hoysala Karnataka Sangha Secretary Ranganath, International Chess Master Vijayendra, Cable Ravi, Shivu, Kumar, Srikanth, Harshavardhan, Lokesh and others were present.
