Tiger found dead in Bandipur

Mysore/Mysuru: A tiger has been found dead in Survey No. 86 of Hadanur village, Hediyala Range in Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

Forest Department officials and staff, who conducted an inspection, suspected that the tiger may have been killed in a fight with other wild animal.

Post-mortem was conducted in the presence of Bandipur Project Tiger Director Dr. P. Ramesh Kumar, National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) representative Raghuram, Wildlife Warden Krutika Alanahalli, Veterinarian Dr. Wasim Mirza, Odeyanapura Gram Panchayat (GP) Member V. Bangara, Range Forest Officers (RFOs) and the carcass was cremated as per NTCA procedures.

Samples from the tiger carcass were also collected and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Mysuru, according to a press release.
