Tigress found dead near ‘Tiger Block’

H.D. Kote: The carcass of a tigress aged between 9 and 10 years was found near Hebballa Lake, ‘Tiger Block’ in H.D. Kote taluk  last evening.

It is suspected that the tigress may have died about two days back and the carcass was decomposing.

DCF Dr. K.C. Prashanth Kumar, Wildlife Warden Kruthika Alanahalli, RFO Madhu, Veterinarian Dr. D.N. Nagaraj and others rushed to the spot this morning and conducted an inspection. Dr. Nagaraju conducted the post-mortem.

DCF Dr. Prashanth Kumar, speaking to Star of Mysore, said that old wound marks were found on the body of the tigress and added that the tigress had strayed out of the forest following an in-flight. However, the exact cause of the tigress’ death would be known only after receiving the report, he added.
