Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Natyacharya’ Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao of Noopura Kalavidaru Samskrutika Trust, Mysuru, has been unanimously selected as the Chairman of ‘Nrityotkarsha 2023’ – Karavali Bharatanatya Kalavidara Nritya Sammelana (Coastal Bharatanatyam Artistes Dance Conference) to be held at Sri Janardhana Mahakali Temple in Ambalpady, Udupi, on Dec. 24 and 25.

A native of Udupi, Prof. Rao has contributed to the field of dance as an artiste, dance guru, director, art critic, writer, organiser and has also served in Exam Board, Textbook Committee, Sangeetha Nritya Academy and others. Prof. Rao, who has the credit of editing books related to art, has also authored books useful to the field of dance.

He has served as Professor of Commerce and retired as the Principal. A recipient of various awards, he is currently active in the field of dance, literature and social work.
