Tokyo Paralympic Games (August 24 – September 5): Paddler Bhavina Patel enters gold match Archer Rakesh Kumar progresses

The Indian paddler Bhavina Patel enters a historic women’s singles Class 4 Final with a 7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 11-8 victory over China’s Zhang Miao, a silver medallist at Rio 2016.

The Indian will take on another Chinese in the final, World No. 1 Zhou Ying, for top spot on the podium tomorrow (Aug 29) at 7.15 am (IST).

On the other hand, India’s Rakesh Kumar defeated Hong Kong’s Ka Chuen Ngai 144-131 to win his 1/16 Elimination match of men’s individual compound archery event. Rakesh will next take on Marian Marecak of Slovenia in Round-of-16 match on Aug. 31 at 7.15 am (IST).
