Tour company cheats woman of Rs. 3.15 lakh

Mysuru: A woman, who had booked a tour package after seeing an advertisement on social media has been allegedly cheated of Rs. 3.15 lakh by the tour company.

The woman is Shobha (name changed), a resident of Ashoka Road in city.

On May 12, when Shobha was browsing her Instagram page, she came across an advertisement reel uploaded by Trip Maker company and called Mobile No. 87369-41259 mentioned in reel.

The person who received Shobha’s call provided details of the tour to Darjeeling, Gangtok and Pelling, which was organised on September following which Shobha paid a total of Rs. 3.15 lakh for 12 members and the tour date was fixed on Sept. 24.

On Sept. 21 when Shobha called Trip Maker to discuss about the tour, all the numbers were switched off. Realising that she has been cheated, Shobha, on Sept. 29, lodged a complaint at city’s CEN Police Station.
