Tractor Showroom owner ends life at Mandya

Mandya: In a reported incident, a tractor showroom owner ended life by hanging self at his showroom late last night. Lokesh (38) of Chikkegowdanadoddi is the deceased.

Lokesh, who owned Mahindra Tractor Showroom near Swarnasandra Circle at Mandya, had reportedly incurred huge losses. He is said to have hanged   himself late last night and the incident came to light when the showroom staff came for work this morning. Lokesh had unsuccessfully contested the Mandya civic polls recently on a JD(S) ticket. The Mandya East Police have registered a case in this regard.

Youth killed in hit and run case

A 30-year-old unidentified youth was killed on the spot when he was fatally knocked down by an unidentified vehicle near Goravanahalli on Maddur-Malavalli road late last night when he was crossing the road.

Maddur Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
