Traffic awareness programmes in rural areas

February 3, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru City Police Traffic Wardens’ Organisation team, led by Deputy Chief Traffic Warden C.M. Subramanian, recently conducted traffic awareness programmes at Badagalapura  near Jayapura and Hulimavu in Nanjangud taluk as part of the NSS camps, arranged by Mahajana Degree College and SDM College for Women, Mysuru.

The dangers posed while riding two-wheelers without helmets, driving cars without wearing seat belts, two-wheelers, driving without licence and insurance, triple riding on two-wheelers, drunken driving etc., were shown via power-point presentations and actual footages from many    such accidents.

The educative programme was meant not only for the youths but also for all the rural folk who often violate and  fall prey to such road accidents, sometimes leading in fatalities.

The Wardens also spoke about the importance of the golden hour at an accident spot, where one should help the injured and immediately rush him to the nearest hospital, thereby                                          helping the victim’s chances of survival.

The audience were also  informed about emergency numbers 108 and 100 to be contacted in case of such incidents.

Traffic Wardens Dr. Vijayendra, Nagesh and K.V. Ramanath were present.
