September 14, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru City Traffic Police, who are acting tough of footpath encroachers, are continuing their drive against them by getting the encroachments cleared, registering cases and imposing fines on offenders.

Yesterday, Siddarthanagar Traffic Police personnel, with the help of Udayagiri and Nazarbad Police, conducted a drive on Dr. Rajkumar Road and got roadside shops that had come up on the footpaths evicted.

The Police warned of initiating legal action against those encroaching footpaths as it was causing a lot of inconvenience to pedestrians who were forced to walk on the busy road risking their lives.

The Police got the shops, vendors selling plastic items on footpaths, garages where vehicles were being repaired on footpaths cleared and made way for the movement of pedestrians on footpaths, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gangadharswamy to SOM.
