JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysuru, is one of the première institutions serving individual with communication disorders. Institute imparts training at Under-Graduate (UG), Post-Graduate (PG) and Doctoral levels in the field of Speech and Hearing and is affiliated to the University of Mysore (UoM) and also recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India. Institute has also been recognised as ‘Research Centre’ from UoM. As part of research project funded by ERIC-NCERT, New Delhi, the Institute is planning to conduct a training programme for primary school teachers for a duration of six days (Dec. 6 to 11) to execute classroom remedial programme for children who are at risk of Dyslexia at JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing in Mysuru.

The training programme will be inaugurated by chief guest Ramachandra Raje Urs, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Mysuru, tomorrow (Dec. 6) at 11 am at Sri Rajendra Bhavan on M.G. Road in city. R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division, will preside. Over 100 primary school teachers in and around Mysuru are expected to participate in the training programme that will educate and equip teachers to identify and execute remedial programme for children at risk of Dyslexia in classrooms.

Experienced faculty from various areas like Speech and Hearing, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy, occupational therapy and Nursing will be delivering lectures during the six-day training programme.
