Mysore/Mysuru: In view of the upcoming Census 2021, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) officials received training here at the MCC premises on Friday.

Nodal Officer Ravi Shankar Sharma provided training to Charge Officers about a specially-designed user friendly and time saving mobile app, which will be used in the Census 2021 for collecting accurate information.

“Every ten years since 1872, the Census is being conducted in India. A total of 19 charge officers, 295 supervisors and 1766 enumerators have been roped in Mysuru division. Each enumerator will be collecting data from roughly 600 to 800 people,” Ravishankar said. MCC Additional Commissioner M. N. Shashikumar, Deputy Commissioner B.C. Shivananda Murthy and other officers were present.

Preparatory meeting held

Prior to the training of the Charge Officers of Census 2021, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru, B.R. Poornima, had directed the officials to contact the Nodal Officers on Mob: 91417-09004 for any issues or information related to decennial Census exercise.

Presiding over a meeting held at DC office here with the Taluk-wise officers in-charge in Mysuru division as well as Tahasildars, the Additional DC said, “during the last census, there were some issues related to non-availability of information about Wards, blocks and maps in certain areas. This time, we need to take all necessary measures to avoid such shortcomings.”

She also directed the officials to collect Aadhaar details, mobile number, bank account number, IFSC code, e-mail details of Enumerators and Supervisors in order to provide them.
