A day-long special training programme for Fisheries Co-operative Societies heads and administrators, organised jointly by Karnataka Co-operative Federation (KCF), Bengaluru, Karnataka Co-operative Fisheries Federation (KCFF) Mysuru and District Co-operative Union, Mysuru began at Suvarna Sahakara Soudha on Chamaraja Double road (100ft. road) here this morning.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, KCFF Chairman S. Madegowda, regretted that the Fisheries Federation lagged behind in maintenance of records.
Stressing on the need for proper and judicious utilisation of funds released by the Governments, he reiterated that a proper mechanism of documentation was crucial for the growth of the federation.
Stating that the National Fisheries Board is coming up with a new fisheries policy, Madegowda observed that urgent measures were needed to prop up pisiculture in the country.
KCF Director and MDCC Bank President S. Chandrashekar, KCF Director A.K.Manu Muthappa, Deputy Director of Fisheries Ramakrishna, KCF MD R. Sridhar, PRO H.S. Poornima, Resource persons Dr. C.K. Murthy, Govindegowda and Gurumallappa and others were present.
Nearly 100 Presidents, Secretaries and other staff of Fisheries Co-operative Societies are taking part in this programme which features lecture sessions on Inland Fisheries Development, amendments to Co-operative Laws and maintenance of accounts, among others.
