May 27, 2021

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Lakshman Savadi, who is also the Transport Minister, said that the Transport Department was ready to credit Rs. 3,000 to each of the eligible Auto, Cab and Taxi drivers affected by the COVID crisis, as one-time relief.

Speaking to presspersons here yesterday, Savadi said that in order to credit relief already announced by the Government, the Transport Department will receive applications through Seva Sindhu portal starting from Thursday (May 27). Pointing out that the relief amount will be credited directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries, he appealed the vehicle drivers to make use of this relief, which the Government has announced taking into consideration their plight.

He further said that last year too when the COVID contagion broke out, the Department had distributed relief to thousands of eligible drivers across the State.
