Trust distributes cash awards and gold medals to talented students

Mysuru:  Director of Department of Technical Education N. Ravichandran has said that students should imbibe the qualities of honesty and patriotism.

He was speaking after giving away cash awards and gold medals to talented students at a function held at NIE College Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Seminar Hall recently.

In all, 62 students were given cash awards, 41 were given gold medals and 5 were given gold medals along with cash awards for their achievements during the academic year 2019-20.

“I was a student of NIE college in the nineties and since then the institution continues to provide the same quality of education. The qualities we imbibe during our student days shape our professional life. That is why students who studied in this college have occupied prominent positions in India and abroad. Now-a-days it is believed that getting awards and earning money are achievements and we are looking everything with a business point of view and nobody is talking about honesty and integrity. The students of the present generation should ponder over these issues and imbibe the qualities of honesty and patriotism along with developing the required professional skills,” he advised students.

Abhi Trust, which was formed by NRIs, gave awards to four students from rural background and also assured the students the Trust will take care of their future education and as per the requirement will send them to Sweden to get special training.

NIE Board Chairman Dr. M.S. Ranganath, Principal N.V. Raghavendra, Deputy Principal Dr. Ganesh Prasad and others were present.
