Mysore/Mysuru: Tumkur University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Y.S. Siddegowda has asked K-SET and UGC-NET aspirants to also get prepared for the new National Education Policy (NEP).
He was speaking after launching the 45-day coaching classes for K-SET and UGC-NET organised by the Competitive exams coaching centre of KSOU at Cauvery auditorium in Muktagangothri here recently.
Noting that there is a lot of difference between the teaching methods in older days to the newer and innovative methods of today driven by technology, Prof. Siddegowda said that with advancements in science and technology, changes have been effected in education and accordingly the New Education Policy (NEP) will come into force.
Pointing out that teaching job aspirants have to also get prepared for NEP, as teaching methods will undergo a drastic change shortly with the implementation of NEP, he said that technology has made teaching simpler, with every information available at finger tips now.
Likening exam preparations to that of meditation,where the candidates have to get prepared with dedication,determination and concentration, Prof. Siddegowda said that it is equally important for the aspirants to develop life skills, study skills and professional skills.
Maintaining that Indians will constitute 60 percent of the global youth population by 2024, he said that even the United Nations(UN)’s sustainable development index report has said that a young India will make remarkable progress by 2032.
KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar said that the University has planned to start a full-fledged Civil service exam coaching centre, for which preparations are underway. A digital studio with video facilities is being established for the purpose, he added.
KSOU Competitive exams coaching centre Co-ordinator Jainahalli Sathyanarayana Gowda said that the centre has coached 1,900 civil service and KAS exam aspirants through online classes in recent days. Now, more than 250 K-SET and UGC-NET aspirants from across the state are attending this physical coaching classes which will be held for 45 days, he added.
