Two arrested for poaching deer

Virajpet: The Virajpet Forest Division officials have arrested two persons, who had hunted a deer illegally at Karadigodu village in Virajpet taluk and had stored the meat in their house.

The arrested are 48-year-old P.K. Harish and 56-year-old Mani of Karadigodu.

Acting on a tip off, the Forest officials led by Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Roshni and staff and supervised by Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Shivashankar, raided the house and seized the raw meat, cooked meat, deer legs and a bike. The accused were produced before a Court.

Virajpet Range Forest Officer (RFO) Dileep Kumar, Ammathi Sub-Zone Forest Officer Shivakumar and staff Sachin, Akkamma, Arun Achaiah, Dileep, Vinod and others took part in the nabbing and seizing operation.
