Mysuru: Udayagiri Police yesterday arrested two persons on charges of stealing utensils and other items at Indira Canteen in Azeez Sait Nagar here. The accused have been identified as 25-year-old Saddam of Ghousianagar and 28-year-old Sadiq, a resident of K.N. Pura. They have been remanded to judicial custody.

The accused, on July 4 night, after breaking the glass door of the canteen, had made away with  eight steel taps, eight steel ladle, four steel vessels and 80 plastic plates from the canteen. They had also damaged the CCTV monitor and had thrown it outside.

Udayagiri Police told SOM that two years ago Saddam was arrested under CrPc Section 109 column for moving around in Udayagiri Police limits in a suspicious manner and another accused Sadiq has a case of theft registered against him at Nazarbad Police Station.
