Two arrested for storing crackers more than the permitted quantity

Mysore/Mysuru: KR Police have arrested two persons for storing crackers more than the permitted quantity at a godown near Bandipalya here and have seized about 4,000-kg crackers besides registering a case.

Those arrested are 46-year-old Santosh, Proprietor of Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Crackers, a godown on Uttanahalli Road near Bandipalya and 26-year-old Manoj of Rammanahalli, an employee at the godown.

Following information that crackers more than the permitted limit was stored in the godown, KR Inspector N.C. Nagesh and staff, raided the godown on  Oct. 12.

On inspecting the documents, the Police came to know that permission was given to store about 600-kg crackers but about 4,000-kg crackers was found in the godown, following which the Police arrested Santosh and Ramesh besides seizing the crackers.

KR Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
