Two burglars arrested; Jewellery worth Rs. 2.13 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: The Lashkar Police, who arrested two house burglars, have recovered gold jewellery and silver articles worth Rs. 2.13 lakh stolen by them.

The arrested have been identified as Nandan Kumar alias Jaani, 22, of Veeranagere in Lashkar Mohalla and R. Karthik, 27, of Lourde Nagar in the city.

The Police picked up the two when they were found trying to sell gold jewellery at a shop located on Ashoka Road on Dec. 26. During interrogation, the accused confessed to have broken into the house of one Rekha at Veeranagere on the night of Nov. 3 and had decamped with jewels, following which stolen gold jewellery (40 gm) and silver articles (220 gm), totally worth about Rs. 2.13 lakh, were recovered from them.

The nabbing and seizure operation was carried out by Lashkar Inspector S.D. Suresh Kumar, PSIs Dhanalakshmi and Gautam Gowda and staff under the guidance of DCP Geetha Prasanna and ACP Shashidhar.
