Two CESC personnel held for graft

Mysore/Mysuru: Two CESC Personnel, an Assistant Engineer and a Junior lineman, were caught by the Lokayukta Police while accepting bribe for a favour.

G. Harish, Assistant Engineer at Kuvempunagar CESC Sub-Division and Gundappa, Junior lineman at the same Sub-division are the ones who were caught.

Abhishek, a Bengaluru-based Electrical Contractor, had sought an additional 20 KW power connection for a commercial building, for which AE Harish had demanded bribe of Rs. 10,000. Subsequently,  Abhishek lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta Police.

Harish was caught when he was accepting the demanded bribe through Lineman Gundappa at his office on Thursday.

The operation was carried out by Lokayukta Inspectors Umesh and Jayarathna as directed by Lokayukta SP V.J. Sajith and under the guidance of Dy.SP V. Krishnaiah.
