230 grams gold chains worth Rs. 14 lakh recovered
Mysuru; Jayalakshmipuram Police have arrested two chain-snatchers and have recovered gold chains worth Rs. 14 lakh from them.
The Cops arrested the chain-snatchers on Feb. 6 and during interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of snatching gold chains from women in Mysuru city and district, Chamarajanagar and Mandya districts along with one of their accomplices.
Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered eight gold mangalya chains weighing 230 grams and worth Rs. 14 lakh from them. The Police have launched a hunt to nab their accomplice, who is absconding.
Following the arrest, the Cops have solved one case each in Jayalakshmipuram, Kuvempunagar, Alanahalli, Udayagiri, Nanjangud Town, K.R. Nagar, T, Narasipur and Kollegal Town Police Stations.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and NR Sub-Division ACP C.K. Ashwathnarayan guided Jayalakshmipuram Inspector Govindaraju Sub-Inspectors (SIs) N.V. Rangaswamy and R. Prabhuraj and staff Abhishek Benjamin, Devaraju, Amasidda Khota, Kantharaju, Mayappa Karangavi, Manohar, Kumar and NR Division ACP squad’s ASI Anil Shankapal and staff Lingarajappa, Suresh, Ramesh, Jeevan, Harish, Hanumantha Kalled and Technical Division’s Kumar, Gurudevaradhya, Manju and Shyam in the nabbing and recovery operation.
