Two-day Bhavanotsava at BVB from tomorrow

Mysuru: The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, has organised a two-day annual ‘Bhavanotsava-2017’ marking BVB Founder Kulapati Dr. K.M. Munshi’s 130th  birth anniversary at its Y.T. Thathachari auditorium in Vijayanagar 1st Stage here on Dec. 30 and 31.

Musician and former Economics faculty of Mahajana Degree College Vid. Prof. B.S. Ramanujam will inaugurate the event at 5.30 pm tomorrow. BVB  Bengaluru Chairman N. Ramanuja will be the chief guest. BVB Mysuru Chairman Prof. A.V. Narasimhamurthy will preside.

The inauguration will be followed by invocation by K.S. Pallavi at 6pm, Veena recital by Vidu. Ramamani at 6.10 pm, Tabla by Vid. Ramesh Dhannur at 6.20 pm, Karnatak Music by Kalabharathi troupe at 6.50 pm and Devotional songs by Vid. Raghavendra Ratnakar and team at 7.30 pm.

The valedictory will take place at 5.30 pm on Dec. 31 with retired MMC&RI faculty and renowned Musician Vid. Dr. S. Vijayaraghavan as the chief guest.

BVB Mysuru Treasurer Dr. A.T. Bhashyam will preside. The valedictory will commence with invocation by Kalabharathi students at 5.30 pm followed by valedictory address at 5.40 pm.

There  will be a Tabla performance by Vid. Ramesh Dhannur at 6 pm, Bharatanatya presentation by Kalabharathi students at 6.30 pm, Hindustani recital at 6.40 pm, Karnatak music at 7 pm and Hindustani recital by Vid. Prabhu Rao at 7.20 pm.

The event also features a spot drawing and exhibition on both the days. BVB Mysuru Hon. Secretary P.S. Ganapathy, Treasurer Dr. A.T. Bhashyam, Committee member Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra and others will be present.
