Two day ‘Makkala Dasara’ from Oct.18 at Jaganmohan Palace

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-day ‘Makkala Dasara’ (Children’s Dasara) will be organised under the aegis of Women and Children Dasara Sub-Committee at Jaganmohan Palace in the city on Oct. 18 and 19. Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, DDPI H.K. Pandu said that the Makkala Dasara will feature an Educational Expo that will have 9 stalls.

Pointing out that Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Madhu Bangarappa will inaugurate the Makkala Dasara at 10.30 am on Oct. 18, Pandu said that child talents such as Pragati Badiger of Kushalnagar, the winner of  SaReGaMaPa Season-19, Best Entertainer Diya Hegde, State-level Solo Dance Winner G.M. Gangadhar, a visually impaired student of Mysuru’s School for the Blind and National Kho-Kho player Manasa of Kurubur Sri Nirvanaswamy Rural High School, T. Narasipur taluk, will take part as special invitees.

The event also features various contests and a variety of entertainment, he said.

The stalls include exhibits of forest produce and tribal culture of H.D. Kote block, eco conservation, tourists spots of Mysuru, Health and Nutrition, Science and Technology, Chandrayaan Mission etc.,

The contests for children include Extempore Speech, Essay Writing, Quiz, Fancy Dress, Dance, Painting etc., The event also features Sugama Sangeetha, Talking Doll (Ventriloquism), Yoga, Desi Games etc.

Mahila Dasara

Mahila Dasara will be held from Oct. 16 to 20 at J.K. Grounds in city. As part of it, Rangoli competition for women will be held tomorrow at 7 am in front of the Palace. Women, interested to take part in various Mahila Dasara events at J.K. Grounds, may contact Mob: 80732-27321 or 96115-91791.
