A two-day workshop on Human Values Development Programme for faculty of Christian Colleges in India, organised by All India Association for Christian Higher Education (AIACHE) was held at St. Philomena’s College Auditorium here recently.
Dr. D. Daniel Ezhilarasu, General Secretary, AIACHE who was the chief guest, said that the workshop was one of its kind and added that if the youth would inculcate human values, then the ‘whole country would be clean’.
He expressed his gratitude for the education he received at Christian institutions that instilled human values in him.
Dr. Daniel said that each teacher can at least change one student and mentioned about how changing attitude and behaviour of a person was a tough task. He concluded by asking the participants to make children commit and also make them aware of the various social issues.
Nearly 60 faculty members from 12 different higher educational institutions participated in the workshop.
Earlier, the inauguration ceremony was presided by Dr. Jayakar Chellaraj, former Principal of Bishop Heber College, Trichy.
Rev. Fr. Leslie Moras, Rector, Rev. Fr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, Vice-Principal and Ronald Prakash Cutinha, Librarian & IQAC Co-ordinator of St. Philomena’s College were present on the occasion.
