Only two dengue deaths reported in district

Mysuru: Participating in the Zilla Panchayat meeting yesterday, ZP member Venkataswamy sought the remedial measures taken to tackle dengue and chikungunya in rural areas.

In his reply, ZP CEO P. Shivashankar said that 450 cases of suspected dengue were reported in the district and out of 19 deaths, only two were confirmed as dengue by the medical team.  

One was from Nanjangud and one from T. Narasipur taluk.

He added that there has been a considerable drop in dengue cases in July and assured that there was enough stock of drugs. He further said that measures were taken to check the breeding of mosquitoes.

ZP member Srikrishna and Beerihundi Basavanna sought the details of allocation of funds for development of highways taluk-wise.
