Two houses burgled in city

Burglars broke open into the residence of an Ayurveda doctor in Kuvempunagar and made away with cash of about Rs. 70,000, 45 grams gold jewellery and other articles yesterday.

Dr. Lakshmisha Upadhyayahad been along with his family members to a cinema hall at about 6 pm when burglars broke open the front door.

The burglary came to light when Dr. Upadhyaya returned home at about 10.30 pm.

In another incident, burglars who forced their entry into the residence of Chandregowda, a resident of Vijayanagar II Stage, made good with cash and other valuables. Chandregowda, a retired teacher, left the house at 8 am along with his family members to distribute wedding invitation cards. The theft came to light when Chandregowda returned home at 10.30 pm.
