Two killed as goods vehicle topples in Sargur

Sargur: In a ghastly road accident, a man and his sister were killed and over 20 others were injured when the goods auto they were travelling, toppled on Yeshwanthpur – Hediyala road in the taluk this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Devaiah (48) and Koosamma (45), of Yeshawanthpur in Sargur Taluk.

More then 20 farm labourers were on their way to work in a goods auto, when the vehicle toppled near Badagalapura on Yeshwanthpur- Hediyala road at about 7.30am.

As a result, Devaiah and Koosamma died on the spot, while the injured were rushed to H.D. Kote and Mysuru Hospitals. The goods auto diver, who escaped unhurt, fled from the spot soon after the mishap, it is learnt.

Sargur Police have registered a case in this regard.
