Two killed in car-bike collision

Mysore/Mysuru: In a ghastly accident, two persons were killed on the spot when the motorbike they were travelling was hit by a car (KA 04 MM 5685) from behind on Mysuru-T. Narasipur Road, this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Manjunath (50), a resident of IPS Layout and Venkatesh (48), a resident of Gujjegowdanapura. According to Police, the incident occurred at about 8.45 am near Hosahundi when the duo was travelling towards APMC Yard.

On witnessing the accident, the local residents rushed to the spot and apprehended Nandeeshwar, the car driver and handed him over to Mysuru South Rural Police, who visited the spot and conducted mahazar.

Later, the Police shifted the bodies to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem and took Nandeeshwar into custody. A case has been registered at Mysuru South Rural Police Station.

SP Seema Latkar, Additional SP B.N. Nandini and Dy.SP Karim Ravutar visited the spot.
