K.R. Pet: In a tragic incident, two persons of the taluk were killed, when the tempo they were travelling collided head on with an Eicher vehicle on B-M Road in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Yogesh (30), a resident of Agrahara Bachahalli in K.R. Pet taluk and Impana (19), a student of K.R. Pet town. 

About ten persons of a family hailing from Valagere Menasa in K.R. Pet taluk had gone in a tempo to Attilakkamma Temple near Adichunchanagiri for performing special puja as part of Ashada Amavasya on Friday. After performing puja, they were returning back to Valagere Menasa, when the tempo collided head on with an Eicher vehicle at Bellur cross on B-M Road. Due to the impact of the collision, Yogesh and Impana, who were seated in the front row of the tempo, sustained serious injuries and died at the spot, while all others escaped with minor injuries.

Bellur Police have registered a case in this regard.
