Two minors among three held for house burglary

Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have arrested a man besides taking two minors into custody on charges of burgling a house at Christian Colony in Rajivnagar and have recovered a 24 gram gold necklace worth Rs. 1.5 lakh and Rs. 50,000 cash from them.

On Sept. 2, Udayagiri Police, who were on their regular patrolling near Eden Garden Layout in Rajivnagar, saw the three (one adult and two minors) moving around in a suspicious manner and questioned them.

As the three did not give proper answers, the Police took them to the Police Station and interrogated them during which they informed that they had burgled a house at Christian Colony. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered the gold necklace and cash from them.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shanthamallappa guided Udayagiri Inspector K.N. Sudhakar, Sub-Inspector B.G. Nagaraju Naika and staff G. Shivaprasad, P.N. Suhil, Prakash Rathod, Rajesab, K. Kariyappa and Nazia Shariff in the nabbing and recovery operation.

House burgled at Srinagar

In another incident, burglars have decamped with gold, silver and cash from a house at Srinagar in city.

The burglary took place at the house of B. Shivashankar in Srinagar ‘B’ Block.

Following Ganesha Chaturthi, Shivashankar, along with his family members, left for his native place Bidaragodu at about 1 pm on Saturday. When they returned the next day at about 10.30 am, they found the lock of the front door broken and on entering and inspecting the house, they found 62 grams gold jewellery worth Rs. 2.95 lakh and silver articles worth Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 30,000 cash kept in the almirah, stolen and lodged a complaint.

Mysuru South Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
