Two poachers held for killing deer

Mysuru: Two persons were arrested on charges of poaching Sambar Deers in Muguru Reserve Forest under Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary in Ramanagaram two days ago.

Shivarudra, 58, and Bommegowda, 40, both residents of Kotekoppa village in Kanakpura taluk, were arrested following a tip-off. The foresters also seized the meat of Sambar stag from them.

The foresters seized 70-kg of meat, one country-made gun which was used to hunt Sambar, a torch, a machete and two knives from them. They were produced before the Court which sent them to Judicial custody.
