Two-wheeler lifters held

Nine vehicles worth Rs. 6 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: Metagalli Police, on Feb. 25, took two persons who were riding two-wheelers without registration number plate near Varuna Canal Bridge into custody and interrogated them.

Based on the information provided by the two riders, the Police took two more persons into custody and questioned them during which the Police came to know that all the four were two-wheeler lifters and had stolen bikes and scooters in various Police limits in Mysuru city, Mandya and Hassan districts. The Police have recovered nine two-wheelers worth      Rs. 6 lakh from them.

Following the arrest of four accused, the Police have solved 2 cases each in Metagalli, Srirangapatna and Pandavapura Police Stations and one case each in KRS, Melukote and Hassan district’s Extension Police Stations.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad guided Metagalli Inspector Shantharam, Sub-Inspectors Shabarish and Jothsnaraj, ASI Joseph Noronha and staff Abhijith, Parashuram, Harish and Manik in the nabbing and recovery operation.
