Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, two youths have committed suicide in city.
In the first case, a 28-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging self at a lodged in city on Oct. 18. The deceased has been identified as Shivaraj, a resident of K.R. Pet. Shivaraj, who came to city on Oct. 12, checked into a lodge behind Sub-Urban Bus Stand. He had hanged himself to the ceiling fan in the room on Oct. 18 morning and as he did not come out of the room the whole day, the lodge staff peeped through the window in the evening only to find him hanging from the ceiling fan.
Lashkar Inspector Suresh Kumar and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members. Lashkar Police, who have registered a case, are investigating. Police said that they have information that Shivaraj had left his house following love failure which forced him to take the extreme step.
In the second case, a 24-year-old youth, who was suffering from illness, has committed suicide by jumping into Kukkarahalli Lake yesterday. The deceased is Mahesh, a resident of Metagalli. It is learnt that Mahesh who was suffering from illness was under medication since a long time but was not cured. Depressed over this, Mahesh is said to have taken the extreme step. The public, who saw the body floating in the lake, informed Jayalakshmipuram Police and Inspector Poonacha and staff, who rushed to the spot, got the body fished out from the lake, conducted mahazar and has registered a case.
