Two youths murdered in city

May 11, 2018

Mysuru: With just a day remaining for the May 12 Assembly polls, two youths were found murdered in two separate incidents reported today in city.

In the first incident, the half burnt body of a 30-year old youth, who is suspected to have been murdered elsewhere, was found near Uttanahalli at the foot of Chamundi Hill this morning.

The deceased youth has been identified as Kiran Kumar (30), son of Shivanna and a resident of Vajamangala in the taluk.

Kiran Kumar, an attender, serving at Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill, left his house at Vajamangala last evening and did not return. His anxious parents and relatives made a futile bid to trace him.

But Kiran Kumar’s half burnt body was found lying at some distance from the road linking Uttanahalli with APMC in Bandipalya this morning. K.R. Police rushed to the spot and conducted mahazar.  KR Police who have registered a case in this regard are investigating.

In the second incident, a 24-year-old youth who was brutally assaulted by a group of unidentified miscreants breathed his last in K.R. Hospital this morning. The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Irfan (24), son of Mohammed Saad of Subashnagar in the city.

Mohammed Irfan, a goods auto driver by profession, was found struggling for life after being reportedly assaulted by unidentified miscreants near Indira canteen in KR Hospital premises at about 7am today, when he was shifted to K.R. Hospital. But he breathed his last an hour later, it is learnt.

Devaraja Police conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary. Soon as the news of Irfan’s death spread,  a large number of people gathered at MMC&RI mortuary.
