Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy said that a Mega State-level Udyoga Mela (Job Fair) has been organised in Mysuru on Sept. 6.
He was speaking at a preparatory meeting in this regard at his office here recently.
Directing the officials to launch a campaign for registration of unemployed youths, Reddy said that an online link for registration will soon be provided.
Maintaining that over 120 big companies are expected to take part in the Mela, the DC said that the Mela, apart from providing employment opportunities to Graduates and Post-Graduates, is also open for unemployed youths who have lower qualification like SSLC and PUC.
He also directed the officials to register Yuva Nidhi Guarantee Scheme beneficiaries for the Udyoga Mela.
Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO S. Ukesh Kumar said that as many as 12,000 unemployed youths have registered under Yuva Nidhi Scheme in the district. Stressing on the need for getting the scheme beneficiaries registered for the Udyoga Mela, he instructed the District Employment Exchange staff to ensure this. Also, the District Industries Centre (DIC) should ensure that a good number of private companies and industries take part in the event, he said.
